Supporting Regional Development and Decentralisation

With migration set to return to pre-pandemic levels by late this year, the topic of decentralisation will no doubt come back into focus, certainly with Federal Government rebooting their decentralisation plan to create regional hubs for the public service. The pandemic has also been a considerable driver, providing the opportunity for people and businesses to embrace the new “work from anywhere” mentality – prompting more than 66,300 people leaving metro areas and moving to regional and rural Australia.

This increase in net population growth in regional Australia has been supported by investment into regional development specific to improved roads and networks, land development and housing availability. Improved access to employment, education, services, housing and community facilities is aimed to accommodate further sustainable and economic growth in regional and rural NSW.

Roads and Infrastructure

The Safer Roads Program is a $1.9billion NSW Government investment over a 5-year period, aimed to develop road infrastructure to connect our regional centres to metro areas, increase road safety and implement stormwater drainage solutions. This is a great investment and information can always be sourced from your local council websites for regular updates. Hit the link for an example: www.orange.nsw.gov.au/current-projects-2/

Mid West Concrete has helped to support some of the regional road development and infrastructure improvement projects across Central West NSW; supplying quality culverts, curb and gutter lintels and headwalls.

Land development, subdivision and housing estates

The Regional Housing Development program looks to facilitate the delivery of 127,000 homes for regional NSW in the next 10 years. As such, significant land development and subdivision projects have been underway across Orange, Dubbo, Mudgee and Tamworth to address regional housing supply pressures. These developments are complex and require considerable planning and infrastructure specific to road, drainage, sewerage and waste water management. Mid West Concrete continues to manufacture and supply sewer manhole pits, risers, grates, drains, pads, headwalls, sumps, headwalls, lintels and septic water tanks for developments across Orange, Dubbo, Mudgee and Tamworth.

Quality Concrete Products to Future Proof Regional Developments

All of the developments mentioned above are complex and require considerable planning and infrastructure specific to road, drainage, sewerage and waste water management.

A critical component of the infrastructure required for these developments is the ability to withstand considerable load. The nature of sewerage and waste water management for instance, requires a product to feature specific weight-bearing specifications. Likewise with road drainage certainly with products such as culverts and headwalls continually under significant traffic weight.

At Mid West Concrete we specialise in the manufacture and supply of quality precast concrete civil, septic and sewer products, made to national standards.  All of our products are made with 40mPa concrete as standard and undergo a series of quality control measures during our production process.

Operating since 1985, Mid West Concrete have played a crucial role in some of the key regional developments throughout NSW. We are proud to support the achievement of long-term social and economic success for regional NSW.
